If you want to go 2jzgte -
You can get an Aristo engine set locally or shipped
(whatever is easier for you). You will have to pay extra for shipping ($300 - 700)

A engine set will get you the complete engine with an auto tranny /harness/ignitor/ etc = Approx. $2000 ( + shipping if any )

1JZ bell housing = $300-$350

Mounts - approximately $250 -(check price)

1JZ Harness and ECU from a jza70 - at least $500 -$600 (IF You are lucky enough to find the harness.)

I would suggest locating Dr.Tweak on Supraforums.com and send him your Aristo harness so he can make it plug and play with your MKIII - Definitley will be less headache and cost less than the 1JZ harness/ecu setup.

You will need a custom Power steering high pressure line for the MKIII setup. ( $30 -100 ?)

Custom downpipe -
New clutch if your 7m one is not in good condition ( change the disc at least )
New IC and piping. ( 200 - 400 )

These are just some rough amounts...it can be higher or lower...

You need to do more research and get your goals streight

which engine you want ?
3.0ltr 280hp 6.5K reving aristo 2JZGTE

which harness do you want ?
2JZGTE bodied car (DR Tweak Harness???)

Which ecu do you plan to have when done with car ?
Stanalone (aem)

How soon do you want to drive your car ?
1-2 weeks or 2-3+ months (either would be nice :) )

How much is your final target hp ?
More then 750hp

How much would you like to spend in base swap parts ?
2500 for clip 800 for engine byself or 1800 for engine + 1500 in add on parts

Which transmission do you want?
5 speed or 6 speed (6spd would be nice but i have an r154)

Is your state extremely strict on emissions and regulations ? like california
No

There i just added my answers to your list up there, I belive in my 91 DD supra i will stay 7m powered untill it gives me a reason (that was not my fault) to do otherwise. However I am also currently building a 89 turbo hardtop car so with the power goal that i have in mind i belive a 2jz aem single setup is the way to go. If nothing else on the race car i would like to have a stock 2j with a ebay single setup and aem or a piggyback for now,

As I see it my DD will be plenty fun with 400-500 HP i can save money keep my 7m and dump the saved money into my 2jz gte race car,aem is in the future for that car (race car) but i would like to get it up and running 2jz as fast as possible whats the easiest way to do that?

Do a full 1jz front clip swap. Get it working, get all the bugs out, and enjoy it.
(this will give you everything you'll need. 1jz bellhousing, A/C, Power steering, hydrofan setup, etc)

After you have the bugs out and everything is working great, get driftmotion's PnP Stinger standalone ECU kit.

Once that's working, source your stripped 2jzgte longblock and swap that in using your finished wiring.

THAT's what I would do and recommend.

yeah but it just seems that the 1jz block and head would go to waste almost since the 2j is the goal for my goal of 900 hP (at the wheels)

OK based on your specs on my questions

Get a 2JZGTE cheap engine about 1800 in parts you want the five speed so get the mounts bell housing and 1jz parts to make this work. you might also want to go single turbo shopping & header and such shopping for your 2jzgte now.

once you get all your parts and the single then get an AEM standalone ECU these plug directly into the 2JZGTE harness not the 1JZGTE harness so dont even waste your time getting a 1JZGTE harness unless you want arrons ECU set up instead. Also the 1JZGTE harness 2JZGTE harness dont matter when get a standalone its better to pick the more plug and play one especialy since you hate wiring.

Also plan this project to take a good 3-4 months getting all the parts getting it all together and running right and tuned.

I also side personaly with MATT but based on your informations of wanting a good 900+hp mkiii supra dont waste your time with anything to do with the 1JZGTE. Sell your E-man blue and buy an AEM. Go right after exactly what you need dont waste time on the 1JZGTE anything unless it is the bell housing adapter and motor mounts.

Also your R154 is not entirely bullet proof so you may want to sell it ahead of time and get the 6SPEED v160 and modify your diff to accept the MKIV 9" properly geared diff this will allow your trans and your final diff e able to hande the 900hp you desire by the way that trans is a good $3000 if you find one.

Dont really want to waste your time with the 5 also because you can spend just well over 2000 just on the R154 clutch to handle this power then it would suck if you shocked it still and blew it up. thats why i recomend the 6 speed from the begining..

IF you dont have the money to put into maken a good strong car from the begining then again easy 1JZGTE swap makes it all better.

In theory since you have the trans you could buy a 1JZGTE by itself for 800 then buy the bell housing for ~350 then buy the stinger from arron and build a good 350whp/wtq 1jzgte for under $2000 in 1-2 weeks VS what you plan to do with the 2jzgte..

Faq section search even on google SF : ( but you know maybe the kit guy as mentioned above.

there is many harness versions you could have based on the car and if it is USDM or JDM I would say get the jap engine cheap then try and get a USDM harness but dont worry about the O2 the AIR FLOW & injector plugs because
you will goto probley a wideband then a MAP then RC injectors 1000CC + ones
The stand alone can change a lot on the harness config based on what you want.

The only part you have to adapt is the BODY - EFI connector make a jumper harness using the 7M efi connectors on one side to mate to the MA70 body connectors then on the otherside use the 2JZ body recieving connector and run you power dash wires and everything you need to see from your engine to your car body you will have a lot of spare wires on the EFI side of the harness. I remember in one of these forums they had an excell on this jumper harness and how they mate up to the ma70 body.

True but I have a Daily driver supra for that, I ended up deciding to build this swap for my 89 shell (race car) so 350whp and tq wont do much for me in a race car , And everyone is right my 900HP goal is Stupid ......when i could have just as much fun with say 600 maybee down the road i can swap turbos and crank up the boost but for now let me shoot for say 600 that would be a fun ride right? Anyway the plan is to aleast build a motor that is ready for whatever i throw at it so aem is gonna be in the car from day 1 i would go 1jz as i have nothing at all against that motor but since i first got the mk3 i had a 2jz swap planned in the back of my head. not trying to be difficult or an ass just find myself close to having a race car running (close being 3-4 months) but its closer than ive ever been . AND Thanks to everyone that has posted here is hopes of helping me i hope this thread will steer me in the right direction
