I have the following mods:

- 3" dual dragger
- 3" defcon dp
- HKS mushroom filter
- hks bov
- spearco ic with hardpipes
- lexus afm
- 550 injectors
- high flow cat
- blitz ebc

I recently dynoed the car on a mustang dyno and it made 248 WHP and 289 Ft LBS. The car is definitely fast but I still think it needs more power for me to feel satisfied. I was thinking of the following additions:

- 57 trim turbo
- walbro fuel pump
- AFPR
- MHG with ARP headstuds
- better air filter to replace the HKS mushroom (I know it
won't add any power, I just don't trust the mushroom)
- RPS Clutch

I think this will satisfy my power needs and the MHG will add some protection. I was thinking of going MAFT-pro but I'm still researching this a little. I would like your thoughts on what you might change or add in relation to my existing or planned mods. Please do not reference engine swaps as this is obviously something I'm not planning for and just opens up a whole different debate.

Also, any MAFT-Pro users please chime in with your experiences, likes, dislikes in regards to that product.

Thank you,

Mark

seems like you have pretty decent base mods. but i would upgrade the fuel system with a bigger pump, afpr, and some sort of piggyback fuel computer before you go too much further. just to add piece of mind, i would get a wideband to monitor A/F ratio. then you can get a bigger turbo and up the boost.
I have maftpro with boost control and wideband tracking and i love it. just be sure to do lots of research before you start messing with the tune otherwise you can cause a lot of damage.
MHG and studs are a good option but i highly recommend you get everything machined (deck and head) while your at it to avoid future problems. this is providing that your motor is in good condition and doesnt need to be rebuilt.

You should make more than that with your present mods...

And I wouldn't use an RPS clutch if it was free (Really Poor Service)

lol...

I ran the spec stage2 clutch for a few years of abuse and highly recommend it. when i upgraded (after 4 years), it still held strong. another one to try is the driftmotion stage2 or stage3 (Action 6puck)... they are reasonably priced and good products. im currently running the stage4 from driftmotion and so far no complaints

Forgot to mention that I have a FJO wideband monitoring the A/F ratios. I have been looking at the maftpro and imagine that I will probably go that route. The motor is in fantastic condition and ready for more power so I don't need to mess with maintanence yet.

Thanks

I keep hearing this and it makes me wonder if I should just sell the one I have. When I bought the car the seller included a used RPS clutch which he never installed.

Satisfaction is a hard to reach with the 7M. I changed the intake and got a 3in. catback. This extra power made me satisfied for a little while but now it feels slow again. When does it stop ? "This is Madness"

stops when you have no money... LOL

just a few days ago a guy has these mods, and laid down...

355whp & 386ft lbs.

mods:
50 trim ct-26 @ 18psi,
larger spearco style ic,
custom hard pipes,
full 3 inch exhaust,
snow performance meth kit,
maft pro w/ speed density,
rc 550s, walbro, afpr

soooo... if you get a 57trim, you should hit those numbers pretty easy... but his methanol is defintaley giving him an extra boost. so you do have to take that into consideration. and of course tuning is always a factor in power output.

And you couldn't pay me to put a HKS mushroom filter on my car. ;)

Well, he said he was replacing it so I didn't bother beating him up over that ;)

Foam filter that falls apart throwing pieces into the turbo... at the speeds the turbo spins even that tiny piece of foam is going to do damage.
