Piston ring break in with automatic.

How do you brake in the rings correctly with an automatic since you cant engine-brake?

You can engine brake in an auto just manually drop it a gear with the shifter, just be careful of the speed when you do it. Start with overdrive first then put it into second. Shouldn't need to go "L"

Broke a stock auto, have everything for a 5 speed swap but Im most likely going back to an auto, a th350.

Not familiar with the th350 and didnt know that it would be possible to engine brake it enough to seat the rings.

Any brake-in advice is very welcome.

Mine th350 brakes @ 1 or 2 gear and engine pulls a lot of vacuum with throttle closed.
