i just had one of the craziest ideas i've come up with since deciding to build my 7M. i was wondering if it is possible to run 2J pistons with 7M rods. a friend of mine told me that ARP studded rods can handle up to 750hp. i am only shooting for 600 or so. i want to try and use .20" over 2J rods because that will equal up to .40" over if i was to bore the motor out and use 7M upgrade pistons. i already plan on boring the motor out but have had more luck finding CP pistons for the 2J that are cheaper than the CP pistons for the 7M. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Um NO the 2J idea will not work the 7M pistons have relief cuts on the top of the piston for the valves Im sure the 2J does as well but very different not to mention the pins and piston height and yes the stock rods a very capable just make sure you get them prepped also check your filter it may be missing the brain to key board filter

crazy idea but i think its better just to spend the extra money to get the 7M stuff that you know will work... lol brain to keyboard filter...well i dont know how to explain it to you with out being sorta rude... maybe you'll figure it out.
Im running .040 oversize Pistons but Im getting ready to drop back down to Forged Stock bore. If you are interested in some, Give me a Yell as Im not going to use them anymore. They have roughly 500 miles on them.
.040" = 1mm. 3mm is a lot more than 1mm, if you are getting over sized 2J pistons than it will be 3.5mm larger than stock. Go find a block and see if there is even 7mm between the pistons.
