so ive decided what rods to go with but im having trouble deciding what pistons to go with. id like to build a 1000hp engine, now saying that, take in mind i dont want to make 1000hp but id like to leave room if i ever decide to bump up the hp. i was leaning more toward the wiseco's but the je and cp pistons seem pretty good too. what are your experiences with any of these pistons? thanks everyone.

after all the research ive done i would definately do cp's.
stock should be fine but you can bump the wrist pin up and it will be bullet proof think its $140 to bump up a set

weisco<je<cp

im going to be running cp's with ceramic top coating, moly skirt coating, gas ported, dlh pins, custom compression and nitride rings. planning on making around 1200rwhp on a power glide

Would the cp's go well with eagle h-beam rods? I haven't looked much into cp. the site I was looking at I think only had stock size and I'm looking for 40 over. I'm going to look more into je today. Especially if wiseco isn't very good.

when i called weisco there tech said even with the upgraded pins theres handle 125-140 a piston X 6 = 750-840hp. if your planning 1000rwhp you need atleast 191.66 per cylinder with a 15% loss assuming you are 5 speed.

the my custom cp's i put above handle 300 X 6 = 1800

Rods, thats an idk. everywhere ive read if your making good power wiesco and eagles are the bottom of the line. but i think as long as you get a good set of pistons, you should be fine on rods as long as you build it right. i got pauter rods, i beileve there warrentied up to 2000hp

I was looking at the pauter rods but they were a bit out of my price range. You know a lot about your piston which makes me realize I haven't clearly done enough research.

ya you have to do lots of reasearch building a high hp engine. its better to spend the extra say 200 on better parts then to have it blow up then your out a set of $1000 rods when you could have spent $1300 you know? same with pistons

Swifty,

I wouldn't even try to do 800 on chinese Eagles.....
Real Crower (not BC, their chinese also), or Pauter.

Unless your just dreaming 1k HP.......
That costs a LOT.
If you are going to nickel & dime it, it will go BOOM !

i am in no way looking to make 1000hp like i said. i want an engine that can handle 1000hp. im shooting for 600hp but in the future if i decide to go more. i wont have to tear the whole engine apart again. i want to do this once, not two or three times. i just want some room for more ponies if i get bored some day.
