*Stolen from the build thread section*

Any one have any idea what it does or if the car is supposed to have it?

I can not go to photobucket so I can not comment (if you attacht he picture here, then I can see it).

But the ISC is part of the motor for a good reason. Idle Control. If anything (and guessing here as I am "blind") the part in question is the circular part with a rubber side to it? That is a one way valve. Air goes in but should not come out :)

well ill try to describe what im seeing as best as i can. Its like a circular rubber seal thats on the inside (going into the manifold) it looks like an orange slice. Inside my manifold theres nothing there.

Well that is the ISC itself. Looks polished.

The small tube is for the cooler, comes from the TB.

The bigger lines is the air intake line that comes across from the intake pipe.

The body is actually ceramic chrome coated ;)

JDM - I'm not sure what you are after here, but the part in the pic mounts with the larger tube on the bottom side. After all, it will only go on 2 ways ;)

Just to clarify what Figgie said, the smaller fittings are for the coolant lines that run from the fitting on the lower intake manifold to the ISC, to the TB, to the hardline that goes around the block.

Hah this is hard question to pose.

Alright *ahem* Ok looking at the first picture you notice that there is some sort of filter looking thing inside manifold where the ISC bolts up to. When i took mine off it was completly empty, i was wondering what goes in there if anything?

It looks like a little mag wheel ;)

That is not a filter, it's a 1 way check valve (like Figgie said) to prevent boost from flowing from the plenum through the ISCV. On a turbo motor you need it or you got yourself a boost leak. It has a rubber gasket around it that looks a lot like the one used on the coolant thermostat...the pic you posted shows it installed correctly. If you don't have one, you'll have to get it at the dealer.

I have a spare if the dealer wants too much for it. But, it's possible it is spare because it should be in my motor. I have a little flutter in my idle, and my car runs as if it had a boost leak.

dealer wants $38

I was always told the car would run like shit without this. It's great to have a little more information about why. Thanks John.
