How long do the 6097's last normallly? and do they need re-gapping?

Gap them when they come out of the box, as you should with most plugs (IIRC there are some that you shouldn't gap). Mine are at .28, seems to be a good area for a BPU 1jz.

yeah coppers are ones you gap ive seen people replace them every oil change or every other oil change something like that

Yes, the 6097's are copper and I just got a box of 10 from napa for $2 a plug.

if i decide to run irridum plugs which plugs should i run besides the ones that come in the 2jz's, are there anyother options? is there a such thing as a cold irridum plug? i know irridums burn really hot so i wasn't sure

stock - bpu > IK22
higher boost > IK24

i personally have bad experience with iridiums, the electrode broke off from 3 plugs and damaged head, valves and pistons
i've also seen another engine having this same problem

the electrode on a copper plug is much stronger, they perform better up to redline and they're much, much cheaper
why iridiums?!?
