So I was driving home tonight from the girlfriends house tonight and i found my self going about 10 miles out of my way just so i could drive my "perfect" strech of road on the way home, The road starts at the top of a very large vally twist down with about 3 sharp turns in the shape of a S and then crosses a small river and goes back up another very large hill in the same fashion :evil2:but the roads not realy my point. The question i am tryng to ask is do you guys ever find yourself going out of your way just so you can drive a certain strech of road? I have asked people I know before this question and they all kind of look at me weird and say no lol

If I had another Supra, and was in New Mexico, I would most certainly go on a nice stretch that I found when driving to Arizona from Wyoming. It was a "side highway" between an area south of Santa Fe on I-25, that cut diagonally between there and Lordsburg, bypassing Las Cruces where it meets I-10.
I remember driving that Chevy G20 Van [shaggin' wagon] through there, thinking "I miss my old car." :(

Yes. I'm always on the lookout for the perfect road: lots of fast turns, a few slow ones, elevation changes, beautiful scenery, 70 degrees and sunny days. Most of all, perfect pavement, little to no traffic, and not over enthusiastic revenue enforcement. I know a few such roads abt 20 miles from my garage.

My personal favorite starts about 4 minutes from my house, and ends at a boat launch where you can watch the sunset. It's gorgeous. :)

I always go looking for a new and exciting road.

I tried venturing to the dragon this weekend and my car broke down before I got there...

Michigan and Ohio seem to be the most boring roads to drive on, they are all flat... but here in TN things aren't so flat... which makes the driving experience superb.

A guy I work with had a "Dragon" shirt on the other day, took his bike there in '02.

I don't go out of my way much anymore. But I did find myself doing it sometimes a few years ago.

My first reaction was nice scenery, then the snow hit me. You wouldn't believe the intense feeling of depression I felt. I'm done with the snow, I don't want to see anymore of it till next winter.

But to answer the original question, yes i do go out of my way for a scenic or fun road. I like taking different routes and seeing where they go without the aid of a map.

Whenever someone wants to start a meet at Deal's Gap, I will be there. Someone needs to do this that is 'local', I'm sure lots of people would come.

I do travel scenic and off-freeway highway stretches. I dont like straight flat cruising as much as some good curvy stuff that makes you work harder. not like its hard but it's just...fun.

going in a straight line is relaxing but also kinda boring, so I sometimes take the side roads home. takes almost twice as long but its worth it. less traffic too.
