Sure, every little bit helps. Here's a pic of my NA, I have other pics of the motor, but they're on my other comp.

Yeah, seems like the actual engine is the problem, but I'm going to the get y-pipe modified to 2.5" so I can benefit from the full 2.5" system. Also, should I get a test pipe and eliminate my cat?

-Matt

of course. especially if you dont have to go through emissions tests. if you do, you could always get a high flow cat, gut the current cat or take a test pipe, cut the cat in half lengthwise and weld half of it to the test pipe to make it look like youre running one. this is all if your state isnt too strict on emissions though.

only legal way i know to go is just get a high flow cat.

Mo - Your cars sooo fuggin sexy.

Matt - A test pipe will give you great benifits, but will make it signifigantly louder and raspier. And smell not so pleasent!

But power is a gain for the test pipe!

Start looking to cams!

I've got them on my '87 NA. Before I knew much about Supras I spent a lot of money on it.

Pacesetter headers,
High-Flow Cat,
Blitz Nur Spec Exhaust,
Modified AFM,
Civic Polished Intake,
1 Piece Aluminum Driveshaft
Magnecor Wires, etc

She goes pretty good. I can def. tell the difference between a "stock" NA and mine, but there's no comparison to boost. If I knew then, what I know now I could have done a lot more to my '91 Turbo. You live and learn I guess...

Mo
How did you modify your AFM?

Will: Are there even N/A cam alternatives?

Well I know it's actually supposed to be "headers", because "header" is for a 4 cylinder. BTW, there are gains when you get an aftermarket header, it's about 20ish at the most.

-Matt

I cant believe you just said this :nono:

and...

manifold = turbo, header = na

I did it using an Old Sogi Mod. What it basically does is losen up the flapper on the AFM to allow more air into the intake. I dont remember being that hard, but I actually dont remember how to do it either lol. Do a search somewhere, you should be able to find it.

ive heard about this one, something about bending a spring (if thats the one). if i remember right, its either really easy to mess up, or doesnt offer much of a gain. actually, this might have been another one; hell, i cant remember.

if i had a few grand to blow on my na keeping it na(instead of spending money on college) ide go with some 10.5:1 or 11:1 comp pistons, 264 or 272 cams, safcII, WBO2, 3in exhaust and the modified pace setters, ARP bolts, MHG, and some mild porting. i think that it would have a little more pep this way :evil2:

That'd be cool. But I'm wondering what cams you could use, or where you could even find the ones you mentioned.

Matt, start researching cams.

Itll be worth it. Have you looked into 1 peice driveshafts, lightweight flywheels and such?
I'm already looking into a 1 piece driveshaft. And a lightened flywheel is something I've been considering as well.

Here is an interesting guide I've found regarding 7M-GE cams:
http://users.tpg.com.au/users/loats/technical/7mge/camshafts.html

Apparently, TRD did make GE cams, but I'm sure they're a fortune. Would I be able to use aftermarket GTE cams? And what kind of gains are there from upgrading your cams?

I may be selling mine in the future to fund the rest of my project. I'll let you know if I do.
