part throttle surge

Hi guys i searched around for a bit with no luck

I've noticed that my supra at low throttle inputs (less than 30% say) the car surges

it'll be slow then all of a sudden surge forward almost in a bucking fashion, but this is when the gear i'm in is already fully engaged

it seems to happen exclusively in low gears 1st and 2nd being the most obvious

but the car is a bit of a handful in traffic I find myself pushing the clutch in more than I normally would. Under boost, or at higher speeds, the car is behaving like it should

any ideas? I was thinking shotty or misaligned TPS...

might be a small boost leak, or leaky BOV.

but the car isn't making any boost when this happens

well it will do that if the BOV is open while accelerating, and when it closes again the car will surge forward like youve described.
