Hi all,
I'm hearing some "popping" and other noises out of my passenger side parking brake when driving, its only talking back a little at a time but its got me worried. I do not drift/ romp on the parking brake, occasionally I will ease into it when coming to a stop in a parking lot, but that’s about it.
The past few times I had disengaged the brake I heard a "pop" out of the rear right assembly, then it would be fine, no noises and the lever would still have good resistance. But last night I heard the same "pop" and the chatter started when I began to drive down the road. I stopped at a lot and pulled the lever up and it went all the way up with almost no resistance. I have searched and found it may be a small arm the guides the shoes or spring, and that arm may be bent.
I have the TSRM and I have looked it over about adjusting the tension via the hubs, but I'm more concerned on what causes this, is it just old and weak parts, or is it from another source? If anyone has had similar experiences please post your take on it and if or what you did to correct it. Thanks!
