Parking Brake Cables

One of my rear cables has just broken.

Loads of different companies used to make these . . . and were about $30 here in England.

It seems nobody makes them any more . . . apart from a company in Japan that wants around $200 each !

Has anyone found any from other car models that fit?

Try Rock Auto. RAYBESTOS BC93687 $22, and RAYBESTOS BC93520 $25 for the set plus tax and shipping. The front No.1 cable at the handle can be found on eBay for $64. The part number for the equalizer bar is 46341-12010.

Oh Bru I can't thank you enough !! I have spent hours online searching for these, without any luck.

I did find somebody on Ebay that had the Front Brake Cable (new Blueprint old stock) for about $40, so although I don't need that at present I bought it while I could (the one from Japan would be $250 !!)

Rather than pay the silly price from Japan I found the numbers of 2 companies that make up custome cables and was going to phone them on Monday to get a quote, as I'm sure they would be cheaper (although still expected they would charge about $100 for one.

So getting them from Rock Auto is SO much cheaper. I have ordered BOTH rear cables (even though I only need one at present) and even with Shipping to England and Taxes the total is just $80.

I couldn't find the Equaliser Bar on their site - is it still available from Toyota do you know?

It shows as discontinued in the states. You may find one in Europe as it fits a number of vehicles. See the fitment below. eBay is also a place to look.
