hey guys the other night at around 2 or 3am me and my friends were talking this idea came up.

since i had to buy a new targa and its a different color as the rest of my car.
(targas maroon and my cars white)

what if i repaint my targa a brighter shade of red and then paint the "rising sun" on my hood.

sm_photo_missing.jpg

or i could just paint the rising sun on my targa but im not sure how it would look if i just painted my targa.

what do you guys think??

would it look to ricey??

(i am japanese so it wouldnt be like weird or anything if i did do it)

try a graphics or sign shop, maybe a larger print company or a custom car shop

Take the dimensions of your targa to them after painting it white.
Then give them a sample of the rising sun you want to be cut into vinyl, and tell them how big it should be so it fits and covers the targa as you like.

Any shop that can make Signs can do it. Any graphics shops as well.

itll definitely be more expensive to go vinyl. theyll either have to print a targa-size sheet or print each ray of the sun, so itll be big or fragile.

id mask it and rattlecan it, since you can always repaint over it, or just fix your stripped nut on your other targa.

basically end up costing 10 bucks, 8 for two cans of paint (one red and one for your repaint color) and then a roll of blue painters tape.

I kinda like the vinyl idea since it'd a pretty quick 'test' of the rising sun idea on the targa, and removable if you think it bites down the road.

As for the paint, that would vary on how you plan to do it. You can do the spray can idea which is definitely cheaper. Or you can tape over, sand down, primer, wetsand, base coat, wetsand, final base, clear coat, and then buff it into some shiny blinging madness. #2 would look nuts, btw.

Get one sheet of white vinyl and cover the targa.. then get the shop to cut the sun out on a red sheet and put it on top of the white.
