Last night on my way home my supra overheated. It was a short drive home about seven minutes. About 6 of the minutes are highway driveing. About five minutes into the trip the car overheated rapidly went from the temp needle at center to almost the red area on the guage within a minute or less pulled over opened the hood. The radiator was cool not even a little warm. the engine didn't seem to be too hot considering the gauge. I squezzed the upper radiator hose was a little hard but squezzable so there was pressure in the cooling sytem. i didn't notice any leaks. i was confused so i drove home and decieded to look at it when there was light. I decided i would perform a block leak test. i drain the coolant and filled with water warmed car up with radiator cap off and reved the engine up and held it at high rpm to stimulate boost and a little heavy driving. tested it three times dumping blue fluid and replaceing and retesting. it never turned yellow indicateing exhaust gases in my coolant. I thought it was possibly a blown head gasket but the car wouldn't overheat again. i then went on a hour drive i even drove hard and still it wouldn't overheat. what could have been the problem. i'm thinking thermostat was stuck closed. what else should i check just to be safe?
thanks

ok i replaced thermostat flushed cooling system and replaced coolant went on another drive no signs at all of overheating. A lancer ralliart wanted to race actually he lost bad i turned my boost up to 1bar and still no sign of rising temp. I suppose all is well.
