Hey guys,
Just trying to figure out if I have a blown head gasket or insufficient cooling. 1JZ 87 supra just swapped cool on the highway haven't pushed her yet still breaking in but overheats at stops. I have an electric fan rated at 1350cfm, doesnt run hot after warming up, slight milky residue on the oil cap, I havent gone to cheking the oil or coolant thoroughly but they look fine.

Still breaking in? What has been done to it? When was the swap done?

That electric fan is going to cause issues if it hasnt already, find yourself a factory one and shroud if you can.

Nothing was done just a straight stock swap I lost my fan clutch assembly from my 7M it fit I just don't wanna buy a new assembly and its the head gasket

Are you saying that you know that your HG blew, or is this just poor grammar?

You said you were still breaking it in. When did the 1JZ get put in? Did you change the HG then? a full rebuild?

Im breaking in the motor I never push a motor I never seen run then things go pop faster. I only put about 1k on the motor so far she was running in November when it was still freezing. I replaced and resealed the bottom end but not the head up, didnt have much time in the shop. I just dont want to do the head gasket and its under cooling

Replaced and resealed bottom end? I'm trying to help you but your not being clear at all. What did you do? Be specific i.e. bearings piston rings HG exc. Who did the work? You, a shop, or the previous owner?

Change your oil.
Check coolant for oil.
Compression test.
Test, better yet, replace your thermostat.
Purge air from cooling system.
Get a real fan.

how can I be any clearer, I did the oil pan, front and rear main seals, 2JZ water pump and themostat nothing on the head (bottom end). I did the work myself along with the clutch and fan my piping wont allow the stock clutch fan. The only signs I have that are pretty vague which are milky residue on the oil cap and overheating no white smoke. I dont want to do the head gasket to see the same problem that was just undercooling dont take it as sarcasm but its pretty clear in the first two posts

You changed some seals. Thats being clear. Replaced and resealed could mean anything from changing bearings to swapping out the block with another one.

Now, to fix your problem.
Change your oil just to be safe.
Compression test to make sure your overheating didnt blow the HG
Pressure test coolant system to ensure you have no leaks.
Replace thermostat.
Purge air from system.
Replace Efan with factory fan and shroud. You said 1350CFM. People have ran 2 of those and still had issues. Reroute your piping if you have to.
Drive car. Any moisture left in crankcase will evaporate and exit via your PCV system.

I never fully overheated, I dont drive far since the car is still kind of incomplete. I noticed that the needle just goes up slowly after a nice drive around, so I buy pizza :icon_bigg. I read that forum posting and saw that a minimum of 2500 to 3k cfm is needed. Im going to test my oil and coolant tomorow switch the fan to a pusher, or off in general. Im also gonna do my oil and order or buy a stock system outright

Wow its nasty out there moved the car for alternate side and decided on a drive. I didn't go on the highways or shift past 3k no over heat if the weather gets better the tests will be done. there was not even a hint of white smoke I think the fan isn't enough.
