Hi all im new here and i just bught my first supra so i don,t know what engine i got or anything but i got a problem when me and my friend was driving att high speed my over drive lamp started blinking and my speedmeeter died and crouis control died does annyone know what the problem can be??

The cable is in 2 pieces 1 x short lower and 1 x long upper.
Fingers crossed it's the lower broken as it's an easy job to replace.

Yes, you can unscrew the lower under the car and check it first but if it's ok the Dash cluster has to come out to replace the upper 
Well are you 5spd or auto. I had the exact same issue and thought it was just one of the two pieces. But theres actually a 90 degree fitting coming off of the auto tranny connecting to 1st section of the speedometer cable.
Go under the car and disconnect the cable from underneath there should be a little metal tip sticking out you can hook up to a drill. If your speedometer works, top section is fine. then work your way down to next section. If both work, as in my case its the 90 degree bend coming off of the tranny.
~$120 for that 90 bend.

I replaced mine completely and it was insanely expensive. Check the metal elbow, it's probably there that it broke.
As a side note if anyone finds this thread in the future, I'll explain why it's causing the issues.
No speedo = no signal from the speed sensor behind the dash. Auto tranny and cruise control both depend on that for proper function. On a side note, if you're brake fluid is low and the e-brake light comes on, it won't allow the cruise control to work either.

alrighty! sorry to bring up this old thread, but my OD light is blinking and the speedo works. so if it still iss that cable ill chgeck it tomorrow. Also, is it bad to drive with that light blinking?

Alright, I know how to look for those, im just hoping that little plastic thing that goes on the cable doesnt cause this because i saw an extra one on the floor when we were putting this tranny in.
