Well if you have some time on your hands, and tools, or friends with tools, this is a very easy swap..

Even if you dont feel you have the know how to time it, set stuff, etc, at least getting it put in and everything saves you $$$$$$$$ on labor.

yea its true, im already saving a good 2,000 dollars by doing a lot of the work myself. and im luck I found a friend with tools to do the head work :) and with that extra 2,000 in the pocket means more goodies for the car!!!

I have not soo much swapped my engine. But lets just say, I have taked everything out of it down to the block and put it all back together. Before that I really knew nothing about cars let alone supras. It is a really easy thing in my eyes to do if you just gather the information, look at things before you take them out and notice the differences. It is all VERY fun...

care to see what we did... visit the Rebuild Site in my profile

im saving up to swap a gte into my ge. this is my first project and me and my dad are doin most of the work ourselves. of course we're getting the block machined and head rebuilt by a good shop nearby but everything else we're doin ourselves. im a broke college student so if i were to have a shop do the swap it would take forever for me to save up the money. so i say do it yourself

Here's something I learned the hard way. NEVER try to finish quickly. Don't ever pay more for faster shipping on ANYTHING. Don't buy anything when you think better deals may be available in the near future (applies mostly to ebay), and wait for good deals. You'll be itching to finish the thing and drive it, but be patient, because the moment you pay extra because "you want it now", something else will go wrong or stall your progress anyway. Patience will pay off big in the long run.
