i have a set of veilside racing andrew v's

the front set are 17/9 with a +22 offset
the rear set are 17/10 with a +35 offset

i was thinking a 255/40/17 for the front and 275/50/17 in the rear
is that a good idea?

what are your recomendations for sizes?

i am on stock suspention thats the reason for the 50 rear!

So you're going to add almost 3 inches to the rear diamter?

What does the stock suspension have to do with anything?

the pre89 has a 4 inch gap between the fender with a 225/50/16

so i thought it would be a simple way to close up the gap without cutting my springs or getting shocks and springs.

i will be getting billstiens with springs when i can afford them, which is not now.

HOLLY SMOKES that will be some funky looking car with those tires. And 255 in front might be too big unless you are willing to do fender work to get them to fit. Then again you are on stock suspension... You car will just look odd overall imo.

this is what 275/50/17 looks like (on a mustang):

...and you want to match that up with 255/40/17 in the front? Here's what 255/40/17 looks like (all around):

I rather see something like this (245/40-17 front, 275/40-17 rear):

Uh... 50 on a 17 would be ridiculous.

You'd RAISE the car in the rear by 1.5". Do you realize this? Why on Earth would you want to do that?

Filling up the fender gap is NOT fixed by putting on a tire that is WAYY bigger than stock unless you're going for a strange truck look OR you're planning on using big drag tires.

Kudos on the nice wheels, now get some tires that fit it. ;)

No one seems to have actually thought about the reality involved here....

My 285/35/18, 38 offset barely fit under the spring seats, this bit of Genious is just on 2 inches bigger in diameter than my combination.... :nono:

Not to mention it will look retarded.

I like when people ask what they should do, then ignore us and do it the wrong way.

In for pics! Can't wait to see those meatballs out back!

235/45/17 and 275/40/17 is the only combination on those wheels (still might be sketchy in front with a +22), but I'm sure the OP already knows, and has chosen to ignore that fact.

either way, the results should be good for a laugh. that, and the speeding tickets from the increased tire circumference.
