I am heading to Las Vegas for the first time a week from Saturday.. I was wondering if people who've visited Las Vegas can give me opinions on the hotel/casinos.. I have looked and read reviews, but I cant really decide.. Also (I know a random question, but I've never been) do the casinos have daycares/supervised play areas for toddlers and up? I know the stinkhole Indian casinos here dont.. They dont think anyone with a child under 3 should be allowed to gamble.. THANKS IN ADVANCE!\

Edit: Money isnt a huge issue... I just want to do it up right

Depends on how much money you want to spend. I vote for the Luxor. The atrium is the largest indoor atrium in the world, there are a few IMAX theaters, and the bar in the atrium sells the Margaritas by the Yard. 48oz. of alcohol. And there is an excellent buffet.

my b/f, myself and some friends all stayed at mandalay bay when we went to vegas this past spring for a friend's bday...it was nice. not sure if they have daycares/supervised play areas....u could always call and ask or maybe email them. some of our friends stayed at circuis circuis too...didn't hear them complaining though they spent more time in our rooms then theirs. we didn't spend much time in the rooms...usually were there only when getting ready to go out or sleeping. can't say much for the other hotels when it comes to the rooms b/c any other time i went to vegas i stayed at someone's house. we went in and out of at several casinos while we were there...most of them seemed pretty decent. good luck and have fun

I dont really gamble, but I seriously want to see Zumanity by Circus Solie

cirque du soleil ;)

my best friend got me started on them yrs ago...i have several of their shows on disc. i took her to see dralion (one of our fav shows) back in the spring of 2002 when they were here in socal. they actually just left...their corteo show was here which should be in portland in march-april. when my b/f and i were walking around when we were in vegas last we found this little kiosk/booth that offered free cirque du soleil tickets but u had to be at least 30+ or married. my b/f and i are neither so we didn't get to take advantage of it. if u are either or have someone w/u in that age range or married u might wanna look into it. the kiosk was located between the coca cola store and the main place to buy show tickets along the strip.

LV is trying to get away from the family fun place theme. Stay away from Circus Circus. It's a dump. Some hotels will charge you extra for children. The MGM will not and that's where we usually stay. The Luxor is nice too and didn't charge for children.

+ 1 on the Luxor, its a really neat hotel/casino, and is connected to the Mandalay Bay and the Excalibur via indoor walkways, so you can mozy around 3 casinos at once without hitting the strip if you want. The indoor atrium is almost scary, from 30-40 floors up looking down...pretty wild and cool.

This time of year, I know you can find really cheap rooms (was at the Luxor in December for like $60/night, from a booking agency online).

Other than the Luxor, the Belagio and Venecian are really nice, but I have never stayed there. I would recommend NOT staying at the Excalibur tho...it's kinda on the tacky side lol.

I was just debating if I would take my niece with me or not, to babysit my son...She's 17, so she isnt old enough to gamble but old enough to wanna escape the house for a couple days..LOL .. My brother is 30+.. He's going with me... So maybe he can get us the tickets.. As for being married.. No thanks..
