If you don't mind 900* of heat being blown at your wiring harness, brake lines and other parts back there.

ninja edit: Not only that but your 02 sensor would be reading atmospheric air, not exhaust, wonder what that would do?

I know a couple of people that ran only a elbow one stock one 3 inch that was about 8-10 inches long and had no problems.

But yeah the only thing you have to worry about is melting something but just starting it for a few secs is not going to screw anything up unless its right there.

It sounds like shit.

Don't bother "just to see how it sounds."

Remember what's behind your turbo. I'm sure blasting that super high temp exhaust gas right back at the harness would be really great for it.:nono:

edit: someone beat me to it.

the other day when i was welding my wideband bung to my testpipe... and while it was out i had to run to the shop.... open downpipe. all i have to say is that it sounds deadly. very similar to my 69 camaro (which also didnt have any exhaust).
once my turbo started to spool.... joggers dove off the road and mothers grabbed their children..... thats how it sounds

Almost sounds like my SOHC Geo Storm, ran it open header for like a year. I wonder why I didn't make any friends that year :nono: ??? Anyway, its annoying to everyone, and cops, although the turbo knocks out a lot of resonates. Plus yours friends will probably tire of it and not wanna ride with you. At least that's what happened with me and my Geo. ^.^ Anywho...

So, wait... you're asking if you can run the car on an open turbo so you can... ugh, forget it.

I suggest you drive like that for a while, windows up, without the rear hood seal, and the A/C blasting.

*Hopefully that'll do it* ;)
