had a quick question......when i first start my car, wait five minutes then floor it, i have full incredible power, but when its warmed up after about 15 minutes, i loose power. when i floor it, about 4-6k rpm, my car slow down......i think i have a blown turbo due to death whine......could that be it? or is it fuel cut?....only mods i have are 2.25 in. exhaust.....

motor has 40k on it, not so sure how much on the turbo, pretty sure i dont have any boost leaks.....why does the turbo have more play when its warmed up? p.s., my temp is right in the middle when its warmed up...

I once had a similar problem. It took me ages to find it but it ended up being a bad wire. It was one of the 3 wires that come off the rad hose inlet (where upper rad hose meets the engine) If that makes sense.

Anyway, I had similar symptoms and found that wire broken. Once fixed, everything was fine.

It was a long time ago, I can't remember which wire but there's only three there so it might be worth taking a look at.

Hope this helps.

I only got a smooth power curve once i upgraded the intercooler and exhaust to 3". Before that it would drop off at high rpm like you.

If your temp gauge is reading half way, you're pushing 210 deg coolant temps. The ECU pulls timing above 210 deg.

Get your coolant system checked (pressure test) and check the rad to make sure it's not clogged. Might want to check the fan clutch while you're at it.

i have the same problem, i am thinking its my wastegate being shitty, people have told me boost leaks, timing, cooling, etc. basically i replaced everythin with hardpipes, bought a new rad and turbo fan clutch, and checked all codes all with the same probs, i recently put a maft into the car and it eliminated the problem sort of, i can't really tell since the weather got cold, but check out your afm. i still haven't installed the new wastegate, but i will be in about 2 weeks so i can let u know if it fixed anything. i plan on doing a another engine overhaul to make my engine bay look cleaner

Thats funny, never knew that one should not expect this problem when you floor it before your car is warmed up... :nono:

sounds like a afm problem, or boost leak, the car should scream at full throttle. so 1 of 2 things something is wrong with fuel or the air fuel mixture is borked, so check o2 sensor afm or reajust your maf pro etc etc might go as far as checking all fuel related systems

First - Have you checked for any codes?

It's not likely the O2 sensor causing this problem...during power enrichment (i.e when you stomp on it), the TCCS goes into open loop operation and ignores the AFR feedback from the O2.

I would suspect:
1) Boost leak - Like Grim said, it may not be obvious
2) Fuel - Specifically the FPR is not allowing pressure to rise or the fuel pump relay has a bad contact. Pump could also be staying at 9 volts
3) VTA signal from the TPS - This should throw a code 41
4) AFM - Code 31
