Only a person in Oklahoma could think of this...

From the county where drunk driving is considered a sport, comes this true story. Recently a routine police patrol parked outside a bar in Tulsa, Oklahoma after last call the officer noticed a man leaving the bar so apparently intoxicated that he could barely walk.

The man stumbled around the parking lot for a few minutes, with the officer quietly observing. After what seemed an eternity in which he tried his keys on five different vehicles, the man managed to find his car and fall into it. He sat there for a few minutes as a number of other patrons left the bar and drove off.

Finally he started the car, switched the wipers on and off, (it was a fine, dry summer night,) flicked the blinkers on and off a couple of times, honked the horn and then switched on the lights. He moved the vehicle forward a few inches, reversed a little and then remained still for a few more minutes as some more of the other patrons' vehicles left. At last, when his was the only car left in the parking lot, he pulled out and drove slowly down the road.

The police officer, having waited patiently all this time, now started up his patrol car, put on the flashing lights, promptly pulled the man over and administered a breathalyzer test. To his amazement, the breathalyzer indicated no evidence that the man had consumed any alcohol at all!

Dumbfounded, the officer said, "I'll have to ask you to accompany me to the sheriffs office. This breathalyzer equipment must be broken."

"I doubt it," said the truly proud non-drinker. "Tonight I'm the designated decoy."

Everone should do that. Its a great public service, and it beats the hell out of being a designated driver, and taking a bunch of drunks home. Especially when one of them pukes in the lap of the other drunk in your backseat! :aigo: :3d_frown:
I will have to try this next time I go out...:naughty:

Why are people so opposed to the idea of calling a Taxi-Cab? I'll pay a cab to take me TO [and from, of course] a bar if I know that I am going to do a bit of heavy drinking.
This sounds like an urban legend or "internet story", and I am sure it's meant to be funny, but I can;t believe how many of you actually support and praise this type of behavior.

I only put it out there as a joke. The idea that this could happen is funny, but bad at the same time. I hope you guys don't honestly think that I condone this behavior, I just thought it was a funny story.

Yeah, I realize that... it's just a joke. And that's the problem... alot of people think it is a joke. I know a long list of people who think it IS a sport, and brag about how many drinks they had before they drove home... and I'm waiting for the day they kill someone, and have to live with it, and maybe it won't be so damn funny.

My next door neighbour, at 23 years old, was scraped into a body bag with shovels. The joke is a bit lost on me.

I apologize, I take this shit too seriously :nono:

drunk drivers deserve to rot in hell.

I've got 17 false teeth, a plastic kneecap, one surgical steel shinbone, my right leg is 1 3/4" shorter than my left. I've got permanent nerve damage in my face.

I've had over 5,000 micro0stitches above the collar bone. I spent 9 months in a hospital. I had to learn to walk all over again, and I had to get used to seeing a face in the mirror that wasn't mine.

All courtesy of a drunk driver, I'm forced to agree with you Dachande...

There is NEVER an excuse to drive drunk. NEVER.

I try not to become a psychotic about it... But there are too many people who seem to consider it a sport.

Mike, my uncle is almost exactly like you. He was t-boned in the driver's side by a drunk that ran a red light. False hip, left leg, etc. He was lucky and had no facial damage.

Drunk driving is NOT funny. ONE drink is too many. Period.
