Im getting so sick of people that just have to one up everything that anyone says. I was talking to a guy at work about my jeep and supra, just making small talk. Then he starts going on about how hes had this or that over the years all ridicules claims. I let him talk, hear all the stories about how he built up muscle cars, can tear down and rebuild Any motor in a few hours. Then I ask what he drives now.... Oh, its a neon but its not running, hasnt been for over a year.
Someone whos raced, built 1000hp cars and can tear my supra apart and make it 100xs better in one day and cant fix a neon in a year?
At the mention of my jeep, well of course he has a truck project going on! He just bought an 09 dodge viper transmission to put in his truck which is like some 80s import. He happens to live near me, I mention stopping by to check it out. Well it just so happens its not being built at his house, its at a shop out of state.
Another guy has been bragging for 3 years how hes a God of video games. Well now with ps3 online trophies I can see how badly he sucks. When asked about why he has no trophies, his internet sucks and they dont allow him to update to show the trophies. Funny thing, hes online all the time and has all the lame trophies you get just for being in the game! According to him, noone can beat him in WipeoutHD. Hes got the trophies for taking a photo, winning a race with pilot assist on and dieing in a novice race and thats it. I ask to race online, get every excuse in the book for that too.
One kid I knew used to brag how hes been shot so many times, ask to see scars and he has none. He put gun powder into the wounds so they dont scar up. Hes one of few people to have a death certificate issued and still be alive! He was in a car accident and a coroner happened to be right next to him and issue the death cert. Amazingly he was brought back to life later at the hospital, cant see the cert though its in the bank safety deposit box. Him and his dad went to alaska and brought back a pet wolf! Oddly enough it looks just like a husky and even barks like one too, its just that well trained other wise animal control would take it.
I start having fun with the one uppers, once they start going off on their big projects I start making stuff up. One guy I knew used to brag about how many guns he owned, I started asking if he had the new T-19 pistol thats not sold in the US yet.... Of course!! He had but sold it because it wasnt accurate enough for his skills. Ever since then I use T-19 for everything and youd be surprised how they just go right along with it.
I could go on with so many different people all the same over the top lies just to seem better than someone else.
