^^^ Kinda makes you feel like this ::hang:: , doesn't it? :3d_frown:

I hate trying to do things right just to take a kick in the sack and end up with things not working the way it should. A bit of smoke here and there beats the hell out of BHG any day, though.

Well, I've got an extra set of Toyota stem seals in the garage. I guess I could try to install them if it gets bad enough, but 1) I wanted to keep them for my build in case I need them, and 2) it doesn't look like a job I'm comfortable doing, which leads me to 3) I really don't want to put money into this engine just to swap it out when I'm done with my build

So here's to hoping things don't get worse. :drink1:

leaking valve stem seals will just fill the ports up with tons of carbon and not really do much else...

though supposedly oil in the combustion chamber lowers the octane rating, so don't blow it up from that.

just watch the oil level...

another question along the same lines. I was driving up a hill setting up my new MBC in third gear. started off like at 1.2-1.5 rpm. Gave it WOT to load the turbo up and get it to max boost. once the power band started like at 2.7-3k i had a smoke screen of blue smoke behind me for like 4-6 sec. Could this be from valve stem too or is this from the build up of oil residue in the intake piping?

blown turbo...
going rich...

could be a number of things

blown turbo... could be my issue. it leaks a fair amount of oil and does that blue smoke thing upon acceleration.. luckily im buying a 2nd car soon so i can finally take stuff apart and figure it out hopefully!
