I know before i tightened them up (po did not) the vibration i had was minimal and from the two piece. soon as i get this new one in ill know how bad it is if anything to worry about. I have just heard some pros and cons about them but have not really been able to tell with bad carrier

wow big improvement over old two piece. much smoother, did not realize how much power this car really had before. that lsd really hooks up in the rear now. i have driven in the rain before with the old shaft sucked balls. But today the roads were drying up and that damn thing wanted to spin tires almost all the way through third gear damn!!!!!!

By the way the shaft measurements from my fabricator are 2 5/8 diameter by .095 sidewall. he could have done 3" on an .085 or .083, but this is what he recommended being this it what he is using in his rockcrawler that is pushing around 675 ft lb torque. which i am nowhere near, YET lol..... Plus it is a lifetime warranty if anything were to happen. Best hundreds buck i spent since that one night..... LOL

I tried searching google for 1 piece vs 2 piece information on driveshafts which only turned up rock crawling results, so I wanted to ask that: what's the pros and cons of each and why did the supra come with a 2 piece if a 1 piece works?

and another question, but it's just to satisfy curiosity, does the mkiv have a 2 piece driveshaft?

that is a good question. my thoughts on the two piece are out the window after this, one piece has two u joints to fix if failure occurs, two piece has carrier and 3 u joints. the carrier alone was almost 3 times what i paid for the shaft to be made (285 for the carrier 99 for the whole shaft)

I think they did the two piece because they had the parts, most toy pickups have a two piece that i believe is close to the same size in some models? the mkIV might be a one piece but dont know for sure.

The one piece def puts the power to the ground. if you decide to get one price one out at a driveline shop first. Mine is 2 and 5/8 diameter with .095 sidewall and they reused my front yoke and rear flange, even the old u joints because they were still good.

Highly recommend it
