yeah on the whole backseat thing. In Michigan in which I live, I checked and a person over the age of 16 must wear a belt in the FRONT SEAT or Passenger. never says back seats...but for safety sake wear them. but in reality all the people that sit in my back seat would no go anywhere in a crash just smash their face in the back of my seat.

Just installed my new seatbelts. They were shipped from japan, $90 ea (champion). Gray, grey, or grae are the only color choices. Here's what one looks like:

They come with everything you see in the picture, including all the plastic parts. They are very easy to install, and they come with instructions on how to install them and what torque to use.

They make a satisfying tick-tick-tick sound when you pull them out, and they snap back oh-so-nicely when you get out of car.

Highly recommend them. Might even save a life ;)

Any sudden movement in any direction locks them up.

Anyone with a fast Supra feel like when you are driving hard and flooring it, the seat belt kind of "reels you in" and squeezes you into the seat? I bet this adds extra fear into the heart of of a passenger :biglaugh:

Back seats are passenger seats...

Plus, when rear passengers smash the seat in front of them...Well it gets really smashed and can kill/injure the driver/front passenger quite badly...

That, and the fact that my kid rides in the back,is enough to make me want to be sure the rear(passenger)seat belts are in good working order.

close friends a lot and a family once in a while. the rear seats are a bitch for taller people i know that but its still safety. and they only make one color for the front, what happens when they dont even make that color then what? everyone goes to a 5pt? imo seatbelts are way better than airbags will ever be just for the fact that a air bag is hot as hell when it hits your face and in alot of cases has made 3 degree burns on some people faces

The burns people get from airbags are from the friction against the airbag itself. Airbags dont get that hot when they are deployed.

If your seating position isnt "correct," thats what happens. You're supposed to be 10" from the airbag. The burns people get can probably be blamed on the seat belt not holding them back far enough.

As much as I love 5 points, you still really need a roll cage, helmet, a HANS device, a harness bar...etc. for them to not be dangerous. Actually, I think without that extra stuff, its even more dangerous than a stock 3 point.

Champion got mine from Japan. How do I know? Took two weeks for Champion to receive them and all the instructions were in Japanese. They are still available. Wish the rear ones were.

Easy to test. Sit in passenger seat while someone else is driving. Test the tension on the belt when the driver brakes, steers hard, or accelerates.
