I was just setting her down for the night on some blocks and I didn't realize my downpipe was resting on the engine pickers leg probably because i'm tired as hell, as I pulled the picker away the engine tilted off the blocks and fell sideways from about 1 foot up landing on the PS pulley and settling on the harmonic dampener. The PS pulley took all the force, it was enough to move the adjustment about an inch toward the engine making the belt loose enough to pull off.

The ps pulley seems okay, it's not bent at all and the site of impact is also damage free.

Is everything going to be okay? I'm too stirred up to be able to think very clearly, am I missing anything? Everything looks fine I can't find any signs of damage other than the PS pump adjustment shift.... Does this mean it should be okay!?

I am so done with off brand cheap shit!! If my hoist wasn't so damn warped I wouldn't of had to set it down the way I did... This is unbelievable!!

That sucks. When it starts to get that late and you've been working all night find a safe spot that you'll remember and walk away.

The only thing i would think off would be if it was a hard enough fall on the crank that it might mess with the bearings. Other than that maybe a broken bolt or stud.

Just wait till your rested and go over with a fine tooth comb.

Sounds like the PS pulley took the brunt of the impact, if anything it might have damaged the pump. Might have done other damage, but it will take you looking it over, but there's not much you can do about it until it's found, so don't worry too much about it. Well, worry about that hoist since if you were under it it would have been a lot worse...

Yeah I've really been pushing it, I just keep going till I'm basically delirious..... is stopping now!

The PS pump took all of the force and absorbed enough of it for the front of the engine to roll and settle on the harmonic dampener.... i think.... it seemed, oh man talk about slow motion... still can't believe it happened.

Tomorrow I'll run over everything and see if I can fine any signs of damage.

Damn...

Sorry to hear man. Honestly I can't add much that hvyman and Poodles haven't already said. Get some rest and start again another day. Hell, take a day off to recoup your energy and thoughts if you can. Obsessing about it probably won't help, especially if you aren't rested enough to think clearly. ;)

i'm betting it will be fine. try to imagine what all those jdm engines go through on their trip to the states. first they get yanked out at the scrapyard and if you have seen how those guys work they don't really give a shit about the parts they pull off. then they cram shipping containers full and from the pics i have seen they don't seem to be careful at all. plus they get shipped again to your house or where ever. i bet they fall at least once or twice on their way from japan. and somehow a lot of those motor run great. so don't worry till you find something to worry about is my advise.

Thanks for all the help everyone, turns out everything is okay.

A slight bend in the outer PS rim by a little less than 1mm so I think everything is going to be just fine. :)

Power steering? Really? If you're not running 275 or wider tires up front, and you're not a little girl, I would think you'd be ok... I used my 88 as a daily driver for a LONG time without PS... Actually came to appreciate the feedback more than the ease of steering.
