I searched for info on this bud didn't find much...so i thought i'd ask to see if anyone knows...

I'm putting together an audio system in my supra...and I wanted to add a sub to it... but not for a lot of money. so i've been looking on craigslist and i put an ad up as well and one person has this....

He said it's an MTX enclosure, and those are 12in subs. as you can see it has mids and tweeters as well... kinda oldschool if you ask me...but they don't look bad..

I think it may be a good box...he's asking 50 dollars and I tried to find info on it to see what the specs are and if it's a good setup but the only thing i found was the similarly styled "road thunder" series...but none just like this. the biggest was a 2-way dual 10 inch box...i cant find info on the 12s...

what do you think? How about the price? I'd be putting it in the back of the supra...
thanks all!

I had the impression that this was a road thunder box?? do you know what it REALLY is?

do you mean the newer editions?

this is the closest one i could find to this setup and this site labels it as road thunder...

maybe this is the wedge box you mean....i think they're road thunder too...but newer and less 80's cheezyness. i think they look pretty decent.

thanks man you probably just saved me 50 bux. haha. i think it's a bit much in terms of low quality loudness anyhow. i should probably buy something small but a good brand behind my seats.... or maybe in the hatch. i'm sure i'd enjoy it more. i'm just not familiar with what is good or not you know? especially older stuff. and this was pretty cheap so i figured i'd check it out.

thanks guys. yeah the tweeters and mids made me doubt the quality... and not quite like the way the box looked.

About the same time i posted this i emailed MTX and they told me it is the mtx 95 hb... it is a road thunder box but the old style....

another lady contacted me about her setup she's ditching because of a move...

closed box sub, 2MTX 12", 1000 watt Sony amp, and 2 GBC 6x9 speakers. $150 takes it all...

maybe i should grab that? this is probably in the wrong section now..better to use the audio forum probably. but my main question was about that box and i'm going to pass. thanks again for your help!!

i dont know what model of amp and subs... i think 150 is pushing it though i'll probably just hold off on the sub idea until later once i hear my current speakers. I have pioneers in the rear and JBL's in the front...they should sound pretty good....
