hey...... my supra is pretty much a weekend car so the old winshield never used to bother me but recently when it fogged up i couldn't see a damn thing. I noticed that there are some water spots that have probably been there since 1987. I have the same problem on pretty much every window. Do i have to replace the glass or is there something i can buy to actually clear it up some? :aigo:

thanks guys

i would say 60 grit sandpaper but that wouldnt help a bit.

so, i say try a buffer and some glass polish. check mothers or meguiars, they might have somethin to help. if not, check at local stores in your area to see if they carry anything.

I tried EVERYTHING to get the hard water spots off my windows (CLR, Steel Wool, Vinegar, NoTouch Glass Polish, etc) with no luck.

I happened across a Griot's Garage catalog and saw their guaranteed glass polish. Not holding my breath I placed the order and waited.

When it finally arrived I rushed right out and gave it a try. The results speak for themselves...

http://supras.org/keith/glass.htm - with before and after pictures.

The side benefit is the wipers work better, rain beads up and blows off, and the glass feels as smooth as a freshly waxed paint job.

If that doesn't take the spots off the windows then nothing will.

I use the Meguiar's Plastic cleaner and polish for that. Do NOT use the glass polish on that as you will leave a permanent haze.

? wait, 87, dont use glass polish on your acrylic/plastic window in front of the gauges. but try that guaranteed glass polish on your windows for those waterspots, like Keith suggested.

i was thinkin i could do some polishing myself. maybe get those wiper scratch marks to disappear a lil and make it clearer...
two questions:
one: which one should i get from that site...theres a whole bumch of different ones with different numbers..
two: how do you apply this? by hand? or by electric buffer?

I got both. I use the regular glass polish once per year to take care of the really nasty buildup. Then I use the fine glass polish whenever I am really making the car shine throughout the summer months - or before any get-togethers.

I do not trust these enough (or myself enough) to apply these with a machine. A little elbow grease and a nice cloth will do nicely.

When it is all done you won't be able to keep your hands off the windows they are sooooooooo smooth!

Warning: These products will not take care of any pitting you may have accumulated over the years but other than that... DAYUMN!

I have no ties to griot's garage other than THESE PROCUCTS ROCK!
