This is getting rediculous. What the fuck else could it be? Internal wiring of the ECU?

Maybe time to hook up the scope to again and make sure the little sensor bastards are still working.

Tom-
Since you have a scope I would test to see if your getting a clean signal at the ECU plug using the same ground from your rewire.

What is the signal coming from the knock sensors meant to look like? From what I saw there was no constant signal, just a slight 'flick' up to about 1V every X seconds (i assume this flick is the cylinder behind the knock sensor firing).

What is the ECU actually looking for?

(where's jetjock when you need him? ;))

this may help
http://www.cybertrails.com/~bestinthewest/autotips/995Toy88Knock.html

OK that link is dead.

The guy posted a output from the KS.

At about 13KHZ he had 2V.

He was running the engine and monitoring the KS at the same time.
There was constant output from the KS. If your seeing no signal, measured in HZ or KHZ then they sound like there dead. It would be rare to have one die, 2??? I would check how I was trying to measure the signal.

Hoefully JJ can provide better info.
