OK I believe my TPS is ok bc when I have the car running and I unplug it, the idle jumps down for a split second then goes back to 1100 rpms.

The car, after starting, idles at 900 or so then after driing a few moments stays atound 1000 - 1200 sometimes.
I checked the TPS with a multimeter, it was with in range... I did it with the car off.

I read you can loosen the screws and adjust it, will this help me in any way?

What things can I look for? Has anyone encountered this problem before?

My car is 86.5 N/A Stock except for K&N FIPK and Apexi N1 with no cat.

5 Speed.

Thanks guys, I know Im getting annoying with this but its just frustrating the fuck outta me, any and all help with be greatly appreciated.

yes, timing may be too advanced. all your questions about adjustment can be found in the tsrm.

also make sure your throttle cable is not stuck and your throttle body is closing all the way.

most likely however, you probably have a vacuum leak. spray brake cleaner at all the hoses AFTER the throttle body... if the idle jumps up, you've found the leak. also spray around the gaskets.

good luck.

Ok, I will check with BC, but I just did a vac leak test, by disconnecting the ISC Valve while the car was idling... welll, it died right away. That means no leaks right?

I know i have a near busted Injector O Ring, its leaking a little gas too.. could that be causing this?

^^^ Stay positive while doing these checks. If anything, you can brag that is idling so high because of your 272 cams ;)

:(

My car had a similar high idle issue for a long time after I replaced my head gasket...I tried everything...checked everything, and couldn't find anything wrong.

I ended up just adjusting the throttle plate bypass screw. From what I understand, if you have had any head work done to your motor, you may need to adjust it or you may not...but i'm not positive on that one.

Which screw do I adjust? Its been like this since my rebuild, which of course involved head work. So what screw do I adjust? I was told the car would toss a code 51 is the throttle was open at all during idle in Diagnostic mode, but it didnt, only throws 51 if I open the throttle a little.
