My 7m is fresh and has the following done with the oil system
-Used pump, clearances checked
-Shimmed pump relief ~5mm
-Cams re clearanced
-Toyota select fit rod/main bearings, resized rods, clearances set right around .0015" mains and ~.0012" rod
-New oil pump shaft bearings
-New squirter bolts
-Stock filter head with like 1 washer shim

Valvoline conventional 5w30
Hot idle: ~9psig
Hot 3000 RPM: ~42/43psig

These were taken using a mechanical oil pressure gauge

Ok. I got my mechanical oil pressure gauge in.

I haven't taken any op temp readings yet; but, at cold start the mechanical gauge reads 47 psi while the stocker reads 37-38 psi. Quite a difference!

I'll post up op temp numbers as I get them.

I have a question, my machine shop hot-washed my block, (not hot-tanked) do I have to replace the oil squirter in the block? Cause I know they are two pieces, or should I just replace the bolts or the squirter's them selfs. Cause I don't want to start the motor, and them not work.

Old bump, but the only part you should replace is the bolt. It has a spring and check ball that can wear and cause excessive oil bypassing (through the squirters)
Clean out the actual sprayer nozzle and you're good to reassemble with new bolts :)

You can just replace the bolts that have the springs. The squirters themselves can just be cleaned and blown out with compressed air. If you have a compressor, just get an air blower and soak them in degreaser and then blow air through them. You can get a small non colored paper clip(colored ones have a rubber coating that can come off) and run it through the hole to get out anything that might be stuck inside of them.

I doubt anything will be inside and the air blower will be enough to get it cleaned out.

Edit: Darn, Steve beat me to the post.

Ok just making sure, cause like I told you Iboughtasupra, I only replaced the bolts and springs.

That is the right thing to do. As long the squirters are cleaned and the springs with check ball is changed, you will be good to go.

1. I'm due for an oil change so the GC 0/30 is going in. (pressure increase?)

Interesting about the GC. Maybe it is more like a 0-40 than a 0-30. Pressure doesn't go up when resistance goes down. Just like Ohm's law.
