Oil Surge Problem?

Hi

I was doing some drifting and developed a loud knock (sounded high up in engine). When engine was hot there was no noise at idle then at about 1500 rpm starts to develop clatter. When engine cooled down knock was present at idle.

I suspect that the big end shells have run into each other and the piston just touches either the head or valve.

Anybody had similar problems and what did you find??

Thanks

Steve

Thanks

Any idea what damage is likely. It was a fairly light clatter while engine was hot, so I assume it was just touching. It was a lot heavier noise when cold, but only did a few revs before I shut it down.

Do you think I will get away with dressing crank and changing bearings or will it have done top end damage to head/valves??

I see some suggest running with an extra litre of oil above the full mark when on the track, does this not cause other problems??
