So we are going to start my 500 hp build this weekend. So my question is should I delete my squirters? My brother keeps saying that it's a good idea to do this mod. What would be the best way to delete them? Also if I do the delete do I need to instale a crank scraper?
That about sums it up. Thank you for any info.

Oil squirters were installed to keep the cylinder walls cooler during driving. Id say if you delete them, then you should probably do forged internals (atleast pistons)

correct me if Im wrong anyone.

If you keep the squirters, see if you can fine ones with higher opening pressure. A respectable member said 2JZ ones might work. They open too early and add that to the shitty pressure bled oil cooler, the usable oil flow is not put to good use. Deleting oil squirters is something usually done on drag race cars, but if you will be track racing or DD it keep them for sure!

Hey Jeremy, keep the oil squirters, they were designed for a reason. New ones are still available from Toyota last time I checked. Add a teflon crank scraper, George @ Raptor Racing has them. Also, I'd add an Arizona Performance oil pump supply line along with your new oil pump & new shaft bearings. Are you planing on running a remote oil filter & cooler?

Yes this will be my dd when the weather is nice. And yes I have seen the ones that driftmotion offer. And that has crossed my mind. But I really don't think I will need them. Correct me if I'm wrong please.

I'd say keep them. Just get new ones so they open when they are supposed to. Old ones can get soft and open too early. New ones should open at the correct pressure and will not "bleed" you oil pressure like worn out old ones might.

You can run without them, but for a DD they tend to add extra cooling and could increase your engine's lifespan.

Thanks Fred that's the info I needed. I trust your opionion very much. Here is where I'm at right now. The block has been bored 40 over for the probe pistions. Rods that have been machiened with arp bolt kit. All clevet bearings. Crank was polished. Arp main studs. All was balanced. Parts still to come. Crank scraper kit form driftmotion. Oil filter relocation kit from dm. Planing on doing 8an oil lines to a new oil cooler.

I'd keep them. They keep pistons temps down. And are only used after 30-40 psi of oil pressure. The system was designed for them and will have plenty of oil where it needs it everywhere else. If your doing this for oil pressure you should already be shimming the pump 5mm on the relief valve.

I come from a land down under
Chuck em in the Bin Nash does and his engines never fail..... :nono:

But seriously they're a good thing, bang some new bolts in with fresh springs and forget them, if your pressure is that low that squirter deletion is a good idea you have more pressing issues to correct.

Ij just the person I was hoping to
Get in on the post. Thank you sir!! And the answer to your question is I have no Idea I'm just starting this build. I have read good and bad things about deleting them. Pretty much I wNt my car to be a dd and a Dyno queen. So pretty much I want a 11 sec 1/4 is what I'm shooting for. If I can do better then great :)
