Well...it came across as smartass. Seems you didn't mean it that way...and I apologize for interpreting it as such. Just getting tired of dealing with some of the other types you see around I guess ;)

The reason I'm being rather specific about the idle and 3000 rpm is that is the only specs the TRSM lists. A good rule of thumb is 10 psi per 1000 rpm, but the 7M oil system (the pump relief valve) doesn't allow that to completely hold true. Get the numbers and I'll give you my 2 cents ;)

I gave up long ago and at some point so will you. The funny thing is you'll eventually come full circle and realize it really doesn't matter. You could run the cheapest SL or SM dino oil you can buy, changed at 4-5K, and the engine would likely outlast the car. The details only matter if you want that little bit of "extra". It's all good stuff to know but the Zen of oil knowledge is understanding the entire thing is mostly in our heads ;)
