Is it ok to use FIPG on the oil pickup tube gasket? I think there is a stock metal type of gasket, or should I use that instead?

o-ring dawg.

When I took off the front sump pickup out of my 2jz there was not a o-ring, There was a thin metal gasket. I dont see how a o-ring could fit on the pickup

I dont either... There is nothing for the O-ring to go around.

I used gasket maker for my pick up tube... I think it will work out just fine.

This is a risky spot, don't use RTV, if you have any leak, even a pinhole leak you will suck air into the system and last time i checked air doesn't lubricate very well. Get a Toyota gasket and never worry about it again.
