When I was using my large bar method it would spin the rear tires in 1st with the e-brake on. Put it in 5th and all was good.
^this I use a chain wrench on every rwd car all the time.
There is no way a air ratchet is going to take that off. My ir ti 1/2in is rated to 900ft lbs of break away torque and in most cases won't take off a Honda crank bolt without the grenade from snap on.
Also 5th gear e brake on torque to 198ft lbs.

If you can't find the chain wrench at Harbor Freight, you will have to get it from the tool peddler in the Frito Lay truck like I did all those years ago. I haven't seen that big of a wrench at Sears or other places.
You should also never use a chain wrench that way... You need at least a rag between the wrench and the pulley or you risk seriously damaging the pulley.

Doesn't really damage it much. Just use a file and smooth it out so it doesn't chew up the belt.
So now I have started the job. The bolt is cracked, belts are off. What's a good way to get the pulley off? Will hammering it work? I don't have a pulley puller.
I have always been able to get it off without a puller... Carefully pry it gently at two opposite sides at the same time and inch it off. Be careful as its not difficult to break the edge of the pulley, and make sure you pry from two sides at once or the pulley wont be strait and it wont come off.
