I noticed that their is fresh oil spils on the ground after driving.it's not coming from the oil drain plug.the drips are coming from the front of the engine.around the crank-shaft area.my spark plugs don't have any oil on them or on the tips.could it maybe because of a cracked block.?

Did you fill the gap in with the prescribed lubricant on the front end of the gasket?

Cause if not and you're driving it hard you could be spilling from there.

1st I would check the front main seal. Just as BD suggested.

I think Suprarx7nut is referring to the dab of rtv you are suppose to put were thr frount cover meets the block under the HG in front of the motor.

Yeah, listen to Sparky... he knows first hand just how bad that spot can leak... okay, well second hand.

Other spots to check would include: Cam seals, Front cam caps, Cam covers, oil pump drive seal, forward main.

I would start with pulling the upper timing belt cover to see if there's oil dripping down between the rear timing belt cover and the head.

Take it off again and you'll be machining it again.

Someone here has to know how to solve it without all of that.

I thought this gap was in the front of the block before you applied the head?
AM I wrong?

you're rite about that, but this time R.T.V will be where it's suppose to be and i might as well put new piston rings on since mine are probably bad since one day i checked my spark-plugs and in the spark-plug bays a number of spark-plugs were drowning in oil.i used a can of restore and it fixed the problem.but this SNAKE OIL only fixes the problem TEMPORARY.what do you think about restore?:icon_frow

Disclaimer:
I'm just a kid with a Supra and a lot of time spent on here scavenging through common problems to learn about these cars. I'm no mechanic, I'm no expert.

Now, a few things:

1. There is a way to fix your leak (if its from the timing plate part of the gasket) WITHOUT taking off the head. I witnessed it with my very own eyes. You can take off the lower timing plate and fill RTV in the crease needed after you clean the living hell out of the area. Redoing the head would probably be the best option, but it can be done without doing all that.

2. If your getting oil on the spark plugs when taking them out, you're not getting oil up through the rings. That would simply burn off and you'd get fouled plugs and you'd be burning a bit of oil.

3. You oilly spark plug problem is probably from leaking valve cover gaskets. *maybe* the valve stem seals are letting oil past, but I'd put money on the valve cover gaskets.

4. Dont use SNAKE OIL, restore...etc. All it is is a thick oil that temporarily seals areas that need to be addressed. Drain out all that restore shit before your engine is sludged to all hell (it may be too late) and fix your problems the right way. :)

Care to elaborate on #1 so this guy doesn't tear his shite apart?

CRE could give more info on this. I'm not sure exactly what all needs to come off and what special precautions need to be taken. Really, everything on the front part of the block needs to come out. Picture a timing belt/water pump change plus some...

I gotta go, but CRE should explain this much better than I can.

i'm tempted to do this procedure, but maybe i'll just change my head gasket the old fashing frustrating way with some r.t.v included.

If your cars is running. That would not be the smart play.

Taking everything off the front is a given. Everything down to the head and the block.

I'm sure after cleaning that you can inject the rtv and only be down for a weekend.

Hence rebuilding under operable conditions lacks intelligence.
