Oil in intercooler piping?

92Teal, STFU. Seriously, you are talking out of your ass. IJ and Jdub are correct - there is no true 'seal' in the turbo - why do you think it is IMPERATIVE the drain not be blocked, and be as free flowing as possible?

The bearings in a turbo are NEVER meant to seal any sort of pressurisation.

The CT26 (along with a lot of vanilla variety turbos) uses journal bearings that depend on oil flow...they are a hydrodynamic bearing. The oil flow under pressure keeps the turbo shaft and bearing surface from touching...it must be constantly replenished. That's why the oil is allow to exit from the bearing ends and is drained to the pan.

The bearings by design "leak" and it is not possible for them to act as a seal.

So it is possbile that if a bearing wears our or get's dmaged oil could leak into the compressor side?

That is all I am trying to get at here, now I have Doward being a complete idiot rambling on, and he is not involved here, I like how this spun out of control... only because I have posted something correctly?

Technically.. they're not seals ( like rubber ) but they do seal oil* and they are rings that do the sealing.. so I will let this be, no seals, just sealed metal rings that do the job.

From total understand the oil pressure let the shaft spin on the oil, just like a crank is suppose to, and cam shafts. it's not made to touch, but t ride of a thin layer of oil..

Alright so, my knowledge of turbos or this car is nowhere near any of yours, but I am willing to learn so please bear with me on this, thanks!

So, I took off the oil cap with the car running and didn't really see anything to shocking, a small amount of oil being turned up but nothing really shooting around or anything of that sort, This was at idle.

I apologize if my question caused confrontation here. >.<

If you didn't see any steady fumes of smoke coming from the oil cap or blue smoke from the exhaust, theres no blowby. Just change the turbo or get it rebuilt etc.

Well, when looking at it with an LED flashlight theres puffs of smoke coming from the rubber hose directly to the right of the oil cap, however its not thick or anything just kinda comes then instantly goes and repeats extremely fast.

Sounds like blowby , I think the puffs of smoke have to with the pistons reaching thier compression strokes . I'd run a compression test and also do a vacuum test to check if the valves are sealing properly.

That's a PCV leak, the pumping action of the bottom end moves a lot of air...

Compression test would show blowby instantly...

Alright I'll have to check compression here shortly then. But saying its pretty much even through all cylinders, it would most likely just be the turbo correct?
