Oil in Intake Manifold

I took off my intake manifold, and I see a good amount of oil. How much oil is supposed to be in the intake manifold. I thought there was supposed to be none at all. One of my friends just had his motor rebuilt. $7,000 gone into the motor, after 2 days of running, the everything had to be taken apart again and it looked like it had been running for 100,000 miles. Is this how our cars are supposed to look on the inside?
Heres a pic of the intake plenum... Keep in mind that my turbo seals are no good.

And... Im still trying to remove the fuel line from the fuel return on the rail. I cant it out. How did you guys get it out? Did you use a 17mm with a 1/2" ratchet, or should I use a breaker bar or something..
Heres a pic:

THAT FUCKING BOLT!!

Ric, you are wrong. Stock PCV system goes into intake. There is always oil fog under valve covers => in PCV system too (even on fresh build engine). Some oil inside intake is normal and doesn't mean that something is bad (need to be repaired/replaced asap). Just maybe that something is not ideal...

If it's fresh built engine, there should not be much oil... may be just thin film on the walls...

To get that bolt out use long extenions to get the rachet above the motor then you can get more power to turn it. By the way that is your suppy line.

Maybe 7M's are just bad like that, but on my 1JZGTE, it's bone dry. It was bone dry and clean when I got the motor on the crate from Japan, and 2 years later it still has zero oil film, deposits, or sludge in the intake.

There should be zero oil in the intake system, if there is, theres a problem. Usually bad turbo seals. You can spot that instantly by taking off an intercooler pipe. If theres oil, you got a bad turbo.

News to me. I've never had a turbo car with oil film in the intake system unless it had a bad turbo. My grand national used to put an oil film on the intercooler pipes, and lol, the turbo also had 60k miles on it.

I said MY FRIEND spent $7,000 in his 7M. The picture I showed you is MY 7M. I haven't had anything rebuilt. I was saying that his motor had some oil in the intake only 2 days after it was rebuilt, so it could be normal for a little oil to be in there. NOT LIQUID THOUGH, just a light film.

An understanding of flow in the PCV system under boost makes it obvious they'll be some oil in the intake. That said it all depends on how much blowby is present and how often the engine is boosted. My intake tract has always been pretty much dry but the engine's blowby is minimal and I don't boost the crap out of it all the time. I've seen others where it's much worse and the intake gets a lot of oil. Bottom line is for this engine, stock to lightly modded, in decent health and not "abused" a film of oil is typical. It's the nature of the PCV beast.

Btw he's right. That's the supply line. Not sure what you meant by "stock"....unless you meant stuck.

Yes, you should have *some* oil in your intake. but the amount it looks like is in yours is HUGE. How does the upper plenum look?

And for that fuel line, I used a 17mm socket + 9" extension + breaker bar = outsy.
