I just pulled of some of my twins piping and found a substantial amount of oil in my number one turbo compressor side.
Heres the conditions. Its a JDM RZ engine so I have not started it yet. The oil is very very clean a nice champaign color. There is no sludge or signs of prolonged leaks in the charge piping. i would say atleast a 1/3 (third) of a cup came out. There is NO noticable endplay on the turbo. It has slight drag when turning by hand, feels like cold oil resistance.
I did prime the engine with fresh oil last week after i got it. I primed it quite a bit. Is it possible that because it was so cold oil just leaked by ? im in michigan and its below freezing.
I am thinking it has to be leakage due to tempature and lack of turbo movment during priming, and that the turbo is probably fine.
let me know what your guys think.
P.S. please don't say "Just go single".
