Oil filter relocation help needed

Hello guys.

I'm using Permacool relocation kit ( http://store.summitracing.com/partd...&N=700+4294817872+4294907680+115&autoview=sku ) and it works well, but I'm worried about rubber hoses.
So I want to switch to SS fittings and lines.

The question is: what fittings should I use with that relocation kit? In other words, what thread is used on adapters? Is it 3/8NPT?

PS: I can't just measure because I dont understand what "3/8 npt" or "1/2 npt" means... we use metric system here.

in the kit, at least according to the replacement parts, it uses a 1/2'' NPT to 3/8'' hose barb. so you want a.......
and you use sealant on the NPT side (into the filter housing adapter) but NOTHING on the AN fittings, they create a leak proof seal if installed correctly.

But I still don't understand... Oil Filter adapter descriptions ( http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=PRM-195 ) says "Inlet Size: 3/8 in. NPT, Outlet Size: 3/8 in. NPT". Doesn't that mean that I need 3/8NPT to -10/AN fitting?
Or there is some rule I dont know about (and that's why you said I need 1/2NPT to -10/AN fitting)?

You want 1/2" NPT for the fitting on the adapter and remote filter head. 3/8" is too small IMO.

The closest match to 1/2" is going to be -8. So you want a 1/2" NPT to -8AN male/male fitting. I believe you will need 4 of them.

Mry it is easy to ask about what components(-8an 3/8npt клмн еёжз & ect) you need for your relocation kit to replace goodyear rubber hoses.
P.S. Will u present me rubber hoses?

my understanding is -8an is good for dd and street use, race use: -10an.

You can go with larger AN size Hose (AN-10) if you want...this is especially useful with a shimmed pump, but not required for most motors. -Jdub

It's more of what level of HP the engine is built for. Fully built motor for the 400-450 HP level and above, I'd go with -10 lines. Plus a few other modifications to the oil system

well according to this threads from previous months. he has a T67 turbo and some 680cc injectors... soooo i would really suggest the -10 then.

Okey, heres my story:
I wanted built 7M with pt67dbb and supporting mods... But had some problems with engine management (Haltech E8) and couldn't deal 720cc injectors with E8... So I went AEM.. Money and time were lost and my engine wasn't still built (internally stock except MHG) till now... But i've tried AEM tuning, some higher boost with water/meth injection and so on... I made everything work as it should at last! So past summer can be called "education, trial and error" for me...

Now I want to build my setup reliable... Forged internals, meth flow sensor, big warning lamp for oil press/fuel pressure/water temp... And rubber lines in my relocation kit don't look too reliable (althought they handled at least 5K miles).. That's why I want to go SS lines.

I look at the system as a whole, each 90 degree fitting is equal to 10 feet of the same inside diameter hose so if there are a few 90's I'll automatically go -10 on the fittings and hose no matter the end use.

I personally use AN Pushlock fittings and good quality rubber hose as I don't think/feel braided hose is warranted in an automotive application other than for high pressure lines or lines that live in high heat areas. (ie brakes, powersteer pressure or turbo supply/drains)

This is much simpler and will last quite awile, yea eventually it will fail. Won't be for a long time though.
