That is a lot of shavings/metals. Did you clean the cranks and blocks channels?

Wow. Not too surprising though. Unless you're building it in a "clean room" it's tough to ensure the assembly process is 100% clean. I'm sure my rebuild was not much better. I was relying heavily on my filter for those first few hundred miles.

At least it was sent to your filter and not your bearings!

If the crank was full of metal it would have seen the bearing which would have knocked shortly after. If it was a used pan could be left overs.

I love cutting open filters.

I have never cut open a filter. I will for my build though.
