Wow. Not too surprising though. Unless you're building it in a "clean room" it's tough to ensure the assembly process is 100% clean. I'm sure my rebuild was not much better. I was relying heavily on my filter for those first few hundred miles. :eek:

If the crank was full of metal it would have seen the bearing which would have knocked shortly after. If it was a used pan could be left overs.

I love cutting open filters.
