Im curious on what others have done when installing theyre spearco replica intercooler and where the oil cooler was relocated too? I know I found a thread a long time ago on intercooler install pics but cant find it now.

If someone has some pics or just info on this it would be really apprieciated, would like to install my spearco rep this weekend.

I don't know if this is going to help you because it may be an odd setup, but when I installed my Spearco, I removed my fog lights and put my oil cooler right behind where the drivers side fog light used to be. I used an aftermarket oil cooler and I can't remember if the stock one could be made to fit.

Id like to keep both of my fog lights since this is my daily street car. Something like placing the oil cooler in front or behind the intercooler could maybe work by building new brackets to secure it.

As for not having to relocate the intercooler, dm says right on theyre site that it requires relocation. I also mocked up the new cooler and it is in the way of the oil cooler.

As far as I can tell DM doesn't even sell a Spearco IC. I used one for a while, a REAL one, and did not have to relocate the oil cooler to install it.

Sorry, thought I had posted that it was a replica but It does require relocation of the oil cooler.

Do I require an aftermarket cooler and lines as nuggets had posted previously or can I get away using the stock one?

Below are pictures of the oil cooler relocation specified for the Greddy intercooler kit. It was basically just a bracket and some hose that let you mount the oil cooler where the left hand horn was. The instructions (in Japanese) showed that the left hand horn could be retained, but I didn't have room.

Yeah that IC is HUGE! Also, i run a spearco replica and you dont have to relocate your stock oil cooler, you only HAVE too if u get the bigass spearco replica. Ill go take a picture later of how mine looks.

Mine is bolted to the panel behind the drivers side fog light I just run new lines from the engine too the cooler, As my "bolt in" ARC intercooler didn't have the brackets for the oil cooler.

Thanks for some insite guys, some more installed pics would be great too. Im wondering if I got the "big" spearco rep because it doesnt fit inbetween the left hand bumper mount and the oil cooler.

Ill go take a picture here in a little... Gimme like 10-15 mins

You probably did get the BIGGER replica. (Do NOT criticize my ghetto ic bracketry) heh

Shitty pics but here you go

p1392062_1.jpg

Looking at the IC through the engine bay, notice my trans cooler up on the right, im going to put my oil cooler next to it on the left

p1392062_2.jpg

Is this is my trans cooler when your looking through the ... grill area that im missing! (Not missing 87 bumper on a 89, bought a 88 grill but the turn signals make it look WEIRD)
When i get my new oil cooler is going to be on the left, but pretty much the same place as the trans cooler.

Hope... some of this helps. If not i can try and get better pictures for you. My IC Core is 18x7x3 (Length height width) So anything longer than a 18inch core will need relocation of oil cooler, it was a tight fit for mine but it fits.
