I'm in the planning stages of my full flow oil system, and I've run into a wall as to where to put my oil cooler. I use the car for drift, so I'm shooting for a decent sized one, but the limits where I can place it.
I planned on using this: http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/product/2555/TRU_Cool_Oil_Coolers
The area between the intercooler and radiator is already home to my power steering cooler. I have space in front of the intercooler, if I mount it at an angle, but am worried about rocks and road debris. The other option would be to get this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BMM-70298/
and mount it behind the drivers side fog light, but I'm not sure that would provide enough flow
Would it be safe to mount the oil cooler in the exposed bumper opening? I plan on driving the car to events that are far away, and it would suck to get stuck if the oil cooler got damaged. are stacked plate coolers durable enough to shrug off small impacts?
