Oil Change Problem

I'm a Noob to this forum but I have never had a problem getting the oil drain plug off until now (on my other cars). The angle of the plug will not allow me to get any leverage on my standard rachet. I have beaten on it with a hammer and still can't get it loose. I had it changed in the last few months by a shop so it shouldn't be frozen. Is a longer wrench or cheater bar my best chance?

Hope threads ok once you get it off. Take a box end of a wrench and pivot it off the base of the ratchet and pull. It's a small bolt LOL, shouldn't be super hard. Unless loctight was used.

Thanks for the abuse...I guess it's well deserved. I finally got it off with a breaker bar I borrowed from a neighbor. Threads are fine.

I can't remember who suggested it from SM but driving up onto a couple 2x4's allowed me to get my jack under the front cross member which made things considerably easier.

Switched over the the good stuff (according to SM)...Castrol Syntec 0W30 with a Mobil 1 filter. Old oil looked pretty clean...should be good to go for awhile.
