Like I posted above... may work for a little while, but there should definitely be some RTV in that spot (not on the outside). Again, it may work for a little while, but it would always be something I'd be watchful about... Happened to me once and I learned my lesson (pay now, or pay later... U R still gonna pay;-)

Look at the TRSM... Basically a small gap between the block and the timing cover (lower). The head, would then sit on top.... Think of the capital letter "T"... The very top would be the head... the stem would be where the block and timing cover would meet.

Exactly where the top of the letter "T" and the stem come together is where the RTV goes... I think on the right side, front/top of the engine as U R facing it.

Hopefully someone's got a pic and can show it better..... The head actually covers both the block and the timing cover.... like the top part of the letter "T."

wow, i never did this and my motor doesnt leak. go figure. i run it do red line all the time too. of course i used brake quit on my gasket so maybe thats why it doesnt leak oil out the front?
