my stock 88 turbo needs a new clutch. Its my daily driver while my wife has the truck. My question is should i just get a oem clutch if my power goals are around 300 eventually? I do not plan on upgrading anything as of rite now for power wise (I have a baby on the way) but do not want to get something that doesnt last.

there is like a 300 dollar difference between stock and aftermarket, and thats my delema.

also, im a diesel mechanic by trade, but never diged into transmissions or clutches. Im kind of hesitant to do it my self. haha. Head gaskets no problem... haha.

I serched and serched, trust me, so please help me out if you could.

Stock disc with an upgraded pressure plate would hold 450whp. Stock clutch in new shape would probably hold 320-340whp

^i agree.

a oem toyota clutch with a resurfaced pressure plate will easily hold over 300whp. i know for a fact. its all about how you drive it. if one wanted to they could burn up a 500hp clutch with a 300hp engine simply by slipping it to much all the time. i would say at roughly 400whp is when it starts to slip because of the torque at that level.

btw oem clutch and pp are like $120 through champion toyota...

I only have next friday and saturday to work on it, so time is of the essence.
