Hey guys, I am currently doing my suspension and I was wondering what strut mounts you used when you did yours. Did you use the stock mounts, or did you go with a Cusco pillow-ball type mount?
My setup will consist of KYB GR2's wrapped with H&R Sport Springs. I was going to buy the H&R Race spring set, but I'm sure that would have dropped the car too low and would have also created camber issues.
I can't afford the Cusco mounts, or else I would definitly buy those. My choice is between the OEM Strut mounts new from Toyota, or KYB Strut mounts.
Let me know what you think..
Thanks

Im on stock mounts, H&R Race springs, and monroe sensatrac's!!! Ride hight in my opinion is just right you can put i finger between the tires and fenders up front and in the rear. Ya camber is kinda off but you cant tell by looking at it. Im sure over time if you didnt correct it you would see it in your tires. My plan is tanabe sway bars and camber correction kit over the winter. Here is my Joke of a build thread so you can see pictures to see if you like the stance.

As far as the ride goes I am very happy with it. Its feels close to stock until you hit a really big dip or bump, it then feels a bit jaring???? And the amount of handeling I picked up is unreal. Overall I am very pleased with the setup and the springs....:icon_bigg

Goodluck

Oh one last thing Im sure you can get your headlights fixed somewhere....lol:icon_razz

Where did you buy your springs? I was looking on Tire Rack and they only sell the Sport Spring set from H&R. It says that the sport spring set lowers the front 1.6" and lowers the rear 1.3". Is that accurate? How much do you think it really lowers the car? I want it to be tucked perfectly, I dont want a gap at all.

Ask for Kyle he is great!!! And tell them you are a SM member and want your discount for real. I was very skeptical as well about the H&R race springs thinking they would be two low and a crappy ride but Kyle convinced me they were what I needed and I am very pleased. I was going to buy KYB's from them as well but I got a better deal on the senseatracs from NAPA. I thimk I payed $28 per strut with my AAA discount....:icon_bigg

Again goodluck and if you want some closeup stance pictures just send me a PM...

Thanks alot man! You helped me out alot, I've been searching all over for the H&R Race Springs and I couldnt find them anywhere. Everywhere I searched also advertised the incorrect drop height. I don't know why they advertise the specs for the sport springs when the race springs are 1.75"-2.5".
I am going to contact HPF asap and ask to speak to Kyle. I am pretty certain now that I will go with the race springs. Judging from your build thread, your stance looks really good. It's not sitting on the floor which is a plus for our bumpers:biglaugh: and theres no gap.. Thank God!
Thanks again bro.. PM sent!
