Hi guys,

I'm a long time Toyota guy and just picked up my first MK3 today. 88 n/a, one owner, 158,000 miles. I'm pretty happy with it so far, but I do have one question...

My ride height is as follows. Front (from ground to fender) is 2ft 4inches, Rear (from ground to fender) is 2ft 3inches. From the looks of it the front end of the car looks much much higher than the rear! Is this normal?! I realize you guys have probably covered this a thousand times here, and I did a search before asking... I would really appreciate some responses.

Thanks in advance :icon_bigg

Thanks for the quick responses guys. I looked around a little bit, and I'm guessing this may be the norm for the MK3?!?! Kinda hard to believe. Here is a pic of mine...

By the way BorHor and johnathan1, your cars look SICK

After a drop and painted sawblades... (still will be going lower with coilovers)

Which do you like better?

I find the second picture looks much more aggressive.. Maybe because I know it's N/A in the first picture and Turbo in the second... But to me it looks like it has a whole different aura about it :)

(initial d fans may have caught that one)

Looks like I will be doing some suspension shopping in the near future!

Thanks again for all the quick replies everyone. I have a feeling I will be spending a lot of time on these forums :icon_bigg

The front doesn't look right at all. On stock suspension, the rake should be higher in the back, lower in the front(at least, mine was). Looks like someone put the wrong shocks in the front. I have Bilstien's and stock springs, and it still sits lower in the front than the back by 1/2". 87 n/a

These are my before and afters. Coilovers make a huge difference, plus, you can put them where you want the height.

Congrats on your purchase! :bigthumb:

It doesn't look like it even has a motor in it. Either that or you are trying to ride a wheelie with an incredible launch. I don't think I've ever seen one sit quite that high. Definately need some coilovers or something. Good looking car other than that though.

the front fenders play tricks on you with stock hieght im almost positive that the front wheel arch is higher than the rear wheel arch making it look like its higher in the nose.

my car looks like it too when you get eye level with it.
